PBTI –Trusted NABL accredited Proficiency Testing Provider

Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) has been functioning as the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for Sweets and Sweetening Agents since 2019, providing scientific leadership in method validation, capacity building, and quality assurance. To further strengthen its contribution to food safety and quality, a dedicated Proficiency Testing (PT) Cell was formally launched on World Environment Day by Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh.

Proficiency Testing (PT) is an important QC tool for evaluating the technical competence of the laboratories in terms of Accuracy and Reliability against pre-established criteria. The PT Cell was initiated through an FSSAI-sanctioned project on Proficiency Testing in Honey, recognizing the growing need for reliable Proficiency Testing programs in the food sector.

Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) is a trusted and recognized Proficiency Testing Provider (PTP), accredited by NABL as per ISO/IEC 17043:2023 vide Certificate No. PC- 1111 in May 2025.
